KERALA KAVYA KALA SAHITHYOBSERVED WORLD WATER DAY ON 22ND MARCH,2012
The joint auspicious of Fresh Water Action Network of South Asia (FANSA), United Religious Intiative, Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy, Kerala Palliative Care Initiative, Karickom Palliative Cancer Care Center, Desiya Kavitha Vedi, Friends of Trees observed World Water Day on 22nd March,2012 at Kurakar Town Center, Kottarakara. The World Water Day Celebration began with a Prayer song By Smt Kanaka Letha. Mr. D. Vijaya Kumar, Circle Inspector of Police,Kottarakara inaugurated the celebration. Mr. Neelaswram Sadasivan, vice president,Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy welcomed the gatherings. Prof. John Kurakar,President of the Associations presided. Dr. Abraham Karickom,Dr. M.K.P Roy presented the Paper related to Water and Sanitation.
Prof T.J Johnson was the Moderator of the Seminar. Mr. Sarasan Kottarakara, Dr Gangadharan Nair, Mr. Mohanan Pillai, Mr. Babu Oomman, Mr.K.K Joy, Mr. Vikraman Pillai, Mr. O Achenkunju, Mr. K. Kochummen, Rwv. Fr. D. Jacob, Mr. Kudavattoor Viswan, Mr. Odanavattom Vijya prakash, Mr.K. George Kutty, Mr.Viswaanathan, were actively participated in the Seminar.
Prof. T.J Johnson released the two books” The Honey Bee and Global Warming. He was handover the copies of the book to Mrs. Chinnamma John, President of the Kurakaran Women’s Association, and Sarasan Kottarakara. Refresherment was arranged at Kurakar Center at 4.45 pm. After the Evening tea “A Walk of Water and Sanitation (Padayathra) began at 5.30 pm with music and chendamelam. The Walk started from Kurakar Center to Kottarakara Court Junction.
The Validitory function was at Manikandan Althara Ground. The function began at 6, 45 pm. Dr. Gangadharan Nair inaugurated the valedictory function. The following poets presented their own poems related to Water and Sanitation Smt. Kanaka Letha, Mr. G. Vikraman Pillai, Thazhava Gopinathan,, Ajayan Kottara, Kudavattoor Viswan, M.P Viswanathan,Mr.Mannadi Chanakyan, Mr.Ummannoor Balachaandran. The Desiya Kavitha Vedi members presented Kavya Silpham and Music Drama. Mr. Odanavattom Samuel expressed vote of thanks. The celebration ended at 8 p.m.
