PROF. JOHN KURAKAR- SOCIAL CRITIC AND EDUCATIONALIST Prof. John Kurakar a renowned Educationalist is born and brought up at Kottarakkara, in Kollam district of Kerala state. He is an eminent personality who is actively participating in different walks of life. In educational, Social, Cultural, religious and interfaith fields he proved his calibre. He has rendered his service as a Lecturer in the beginning and later he became the Professor in St. Gregorious College, Kottarakkara, for 30 years. He has not only imparted education to the youth but also tuned their life to become a real human being. In the world of Kaliyuga people are impious, jealous and selfish, they are anxious to become rich all on a sudden. But prof. John Kurakar is an exception. He rendered his service as the Programme Coordinator of the National Service Scheme of the college. URI NATIONAL ASSEMBLIES The first National Assembly   of the URI was at   the Mar Thoma Orientation Centre, Kerala as early as 2004, which was inaugurated by the longest living bishop in the world, Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom.The second National Assembly was again at the Mar Thoma Shanthigiri Ashram, Alwaye in 2007, in conjunction with the second International Holy Books conference. All the pioneers of the Interfaith Movement in India attended this Assembly viz. Swami Agnivesh, Justice Shamsuddin, Fr. Nambiar Parambil, Bishop Zacharias, Homi Dalla, Madam Meher Master Moos, Swami Chaturvedi, Dr. Mohinder Singh, Vijay Bhatkar and so on. On that day in 1949, the constituent assembly adopted Hindi, written in Devanagari script, as the official language of the Union. World Hindi Day is celebrated on January 10 every year, marking the anniversary of first World Hindi Conference which was held in 1975 by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.Since 1975, the World Hindi Conference has been organised in different countries like India, Mauritius, United Kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago, United States.World Hindi Day and National Hindi Diwas are completely different. JOHN KURAKAR'S VALEDICTORY SPEECH OF U.R.I YOUTH ASSEMBLY August 24, 2019, was the URI Youth Assembly at Karickam International Public School (a URI Cooperation Circle, or member organization, in Kottarakkara, Kerala, India). In addition to the young people gathered there, around 200 delegates from various URI Cooperation Circles attended. Hari Sankar IPS (District Superintendent of Police) inaugurated the program. Reni. K. Jacob (Director, Justice and Peace Mission, Chennai) gave the keynote address on the theme "Violence and Extremism”.
